As blogging matures, so do blogging applications. MarsEdit, originally created alongside NetNewsWire by Brent Simmons, is now under the new ownership of Daniel Jalkut at Red Sweater Software. The result is an injection of fresh blood for MarsEdit. MarsEdit 2 benefits from some helpful interface tweaks and a handful of much-needed new features.

Towards the end, I’m slightly critical of the lack of WYSIWYG editing, but that’s because I have to consider the consumer readers of the magazine. From a personal perspective, lack of WYSIWYG doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I think MarsEdit 2 is a great piece of software.
